Keepıng Up Wıth the 21st Century: Educatıon

21st century is the century of technology. Especially the kids born in this century clearly demonstrate the significance of this. So, 21st-century learning must be coherent with technology. When we say this, lots of misunderstandings may occur because teachers tend to take it way too personally. They dedicate themselves to understanding and using the technology better in teaching but this is not enough. Because with the mindset of a learner-centred education which is essential in the 21st-century, the learners should be accustomed to using technology through learning. And this is possible if both teacher and the student have access to technology. Most students, on the other hand, do not have this access in the classroom, but in their personal spaces. Which makes most of the classrooms inconvenient for 21st -century learning.

Especially the young learners in the 21st-century are mostly digital natives and a traditional classroom is not an efficient environment for them to learn. Therefore, technology must be integrated into the learning process if effectiveness is expected. If not, we would be torturing learners rather that teaching.
